Julian Westermann (*1991 in Engelskirchen) studied at the Academy of Art in Düsseldorf from 2015 to 2022.
He graduated in 2022 in Thomas Scheibitz's class and was also appointed a master student.
Westermann has shown his work in exhibitions in Germany and abroad,
including in London, Copenhagen, Berlin and Düsseldorf.
Various working visits have taken him to Mongolia and Latin America, among other places.
Westermann's cross-media work and his exploration of the conflicting poles
between a socially distant wilderness and pop-cultural phenomenas
have led him to work in a broad field ranging from classical imagery and sculpture
to large-scale installations and actions that straddle the boundary between concert and performance.
