Julian Westermann *16. November 1991 in Engelskirchen
In my multidisciplinary practice, I engage with materials and situations marked by the ambivalence of everyday life and by experiences of alienation. At the intersection of nature and culture, my performative, cinematic, and sculptural works explore hybrid identity. In my current projects, I stage performative and pictorial embodiments of external and internal landscapes. Fiction meets poetic-real imagery in which conditions of appearance and disappearance, as well as transitions between landscape, figure, body, and voice, become apparent.
